The Lincoln Lawyer future revealed by Netflix in sad news for fans – plus Battlestar Galactica icon confirmed for cast

Viewers were thrilled when The Lincoln Lawyer was picked up for another season. However, they recently learned that season five will be the show’s final one.

Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez, the show’s co-showrunners, confirmed the news in a joint statement.

Every good story eventually finishes, and we wanted to make sure this one ended the right way. From the start, our goal wasn’t just to show what happened with Mickey Haller and the others, but to give their story a satisfying conclusion.

Although it’s sad to see this chapter end, it’s also a wonderful chance to wrap up this story and maybe explore what happens next for some of our characters.

We’re incredibly thankful to Netflix and A+E Studios for giving us the chance to finish the series properly. More importantly, we’re grateful to all of our fans worldwide for watching and supporting the show. We’re currently working on a final season that will give Mickey Haller the conclusion he—and you—deserve, and we can’t wait to share it!

Season five of the show will be based on the novel “Resurrection Walk” by Michael Connelly, the seventh book in his Lincoln Lawyer series. The new season will continue the story after the events of season four, where Mickey Haller, played by Manuel Garcia Rulfo, learns he has a sister – a role filled by Cobie Smulders.

Season 5 will dramatically change Mickey’s life when he meets Emi, his previously unknown half-sister (played by Cobie Smulders). She asks for his help in proving a woman was wrongly convicted.

This season focuses on family connections and hidden truths as Mickey fights to free a man convicted of murder six years ago. However, the more he investigates, the more powerful and dangerous his opposition becomes.

As Mickey works to clear his own name after being wrongly accused, his dedicated team – Lorna, Izzy, and Cisco – face increasingly important and difficult cases. Now that he’s free, Mickey is focused on fixing a major injustice.

As he exposes a network of deceit and wrongdoing, he’s forced to confront the complicated history of his loved ones – the family he built and the one he never knew existed.

Okay, so I’m really excited to hear that Rulfo, Smulders, Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole, Angus Sampson, Neve Campbell, Krista Warner, Angélica María, and Gigi Zumbado are all returning for another season. That’s a solid core cast right there, and I’m glad they’re bringing everyone back!

The cast also includes Chris Diamantopoulos, Corbin Bernsen, Diane Guerrero, Iker Garcia, Patty Guggenheim, Richard Cabral, Steve Howey, and Teresa Maria, all of whom were previously announced to be joining the show.

Season 5 is gaining some exciting new cast members! Tricia Helfer, known for her role in Battlestar Galactica, and Nate Corddry, who starred in The Testaments, are both confirmed to join the show.

The cast also includes new additions Amy Aquino, known for her work on Bosch; Angela Trimbur from Search Party; Elpidia Carrillo, who appeared in Blue Beetle; and Keir O’Donnell of High Desert.

The Lincoln Lawyer series includes eight books, but it appears three of them – The Lincoln Lawyer, The Reversal, and The Proving Ground – won’t be turned into movies or TV shows.
