Looking for something to watch on Netflix this weekend, April 24–26, 2026? Three new shows are currently getting a lot of buzz and topping streaming charts. Whether you’re into a thrilling hidden gem that’s quickly becoming popular or the latest installment of a major Netflix series, there’s something great to watch, only on Netflix.
After the debut of season 2 of Beef last week, Netflix has launched a bunch of new shows that are already gaining popularity. Some highlights include the K-drama Sold Out on You (currently #2 worldwide on Netflix), the documentary series Ronaldinho: The One and Only, Zach Galifianakis’s comedy This Is a Gardening Show, and Kevin Hart’s competition show Funny AF. However, Running Point, Stranger Things: Tales From ’85, and Unchosen are predicted to be the most popular and binge-worthy series on the platform.
Running Point
I was so excited when season 2 of Running Point dropped on Netflix this past Thursday, April 23rd! There are ten new episodes, and each one is around half an hour long. It continues right from where we left off in season one, and if you loved Ted Lasso, you’ll probably enjoy this – it’s a really funny sports comedy that feels pretty grounded in reality. Kate Hudson is fantastic as Isla Gordon, a woman who steps in to run a major basketball team even though pretty much everyone doubts she can do it.
Season 2 of Running Point received a higher rating on Rotten Tomatoes (86%) than its first season (79%), making it a show worth watching. It quickly became a hit on Netflix, reaching the #1 spot in the U.S. just one day after its release worldwide. The series, inspired by the real-life story of Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss, is a fun and easy watch for fans of sports and comedy looking for something to enjoy this weekend.
Stranger Things: Tales From ’85
Fans have been waiting for more from the world of Stranger Things, and it’s finally here with the new animated series, Stranger Things: Tales From ’85. This series takes place between seasons 2 and 3 of the original show and is created by the same team. While featuring familiar characters like Eleven, Mike, and Dustin, it uses a new group of voice actors. Released on Thursday, April 23th, the show quickly gained some traction, reaching as high as #6 in the U.S. on the streaming platform.
Similar to season 2 of Running Point, Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 has 10 episodes, each around 30 minutes long. It’s perfect for watching all at once over a weekend, or even in a single night. While officially part of the Stranger Things story, the series has received mixed reactions, currently holding a 67% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. However, if you’re a fan of the original Stranger Things, Tales From ’85 is worth a look this weekend.
Unchosen
If you’re looking for something new to watch this weekend, check out Unchosen on Netflix. This thrilling 6-episode series, starring Molly Windsor and Asa Butterfield, follows Rosie, a wife and mother trapped in a strict cult. When she meets Sam, an escaped convict, she sees a chance to finally break free. Unchosen is currently Netflix’s most popular show worldwide and is a fantastic binge-watch with its captivating story.
