Virgin River’s Stewart McLean Believed to Be Victim of Homicide

New updates have emerged in the disappearance of Stewart McLean.

The Squamish RCMP reported that actor Stewart was missing as of May 18th. The next day, they issued a statement expressing serious concerns for his health, noting he hadn’t been seen since May 15th at his home in Lions Bay, British Columbia.

On May 21st, the RCMP announced that the search for the missing person is now being handled by the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT).

The Squamish RCMP started an investigation and discovered evidence suggesting that Mr. McLean was a homicide victim, according to a press release.

Police stated they are actively collaborating with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) and forensic experts to move the investigation forward. They are also asking anyone with information about the case to please come forward.

Stewart McLean, often known as Stew McLean, had been a working actor since 2015. He recently played a small role on Virgin River, and had also appeared in Arrow, Supernatural, and The Irrational. Beyond acting, the 45-year-old was also a producer, contributing to the TV series CLOUD Van-Demic! and Please Look Away Vol. 2.

Following the announcement that the search for McLean had shifted from a missing person investigation to a homicide investigation, his agency, Lucas Talent Inc., released a statement honoring him.

Jodi Caplan, from Stew McLean’s agency, announced on Facebook on May 22nd that McLean had passed away. She shared that she had the pleasure of working with him for over a decade.

She fondly remembered him, saying he was always a joy to work with – dedicated, professional, enthusiastic, and incredibly funny!

Caplan mentioned that numerous casting directors have expressed their sympathy to Stew’s family and our agency, all remembering him as a wonderful person who will be greatly missed.
