Why Drake Fans Think He Dissed Rihanna, A$AP Rocky & More on Iceman

Drake didn’t just drop one album—he dropped three.

On May 15th, Drake released 43 songs across three projects – Iceman, Maid of Honour, and Habibti – and used them to publicly address and criticize several famous people.

It’s no surprise Kendrick Lamar was a main target of the criticism. He and Drake have been publicly feuding for years, trading insults through their songs.

In his song “Iceman”, Drake suggests Kendrick Lamar is putting on a show for the cameras in Compton, California. He raps that Kendrick gains popularity with white audiences by appealing to their guilt, and then implies Kendrick returns to his wealthy lifestyle after doing charitable acts like handing out turkeys for public display in his neighborhood.

In his song “Make Them Pay,” Drake appeared to reference Kendrick Lamar’s streaming statistics, rapping about a significant drop in plays and questioning who Kendrick really is.

Within the same song, he also appears to criticize Rick Ross, mentioning he helped boost Ross’s streaming numbers before Adin Ross even started streaming. He also calls out DJ Khaled for remaining silent about the current situation in Palestine.

Drake raps, addressing Khaled, saying their conflict was very real, and Khaled embraced his faith. He then points out the continued support for a Free Palestine among Khaled’s community, while acknowledging that situations aren’t always simple or easily categorized.

The conflict also appeared to involve A$AP Rocky and Rihanna, who Drake had previously dated, with the rapper publicly criticizing their relationship.

On the song “Burning Bridges” from his album Iceman, the rapper, now 39 years old, questions the whereabouts of a rival’s baby mother, rapping, “Your baby momma ain’t even post a single, damn, where she at.” He then accuses the rival of being disingenuous, saying, “You saw my brother, you were trying to fix things, but now that your album is out, you’re back to attacking me.”

Okay, so I was scrolling through Twitter and nearly lost it! Someone finally noticed it too – Drake totally threw shade at A$AP Rocky in ‘Burning Bridges’! I mean, it’s so obvious now that you point it out, and everyone’s buzzing about it. I’ve replayed that line like a million times, and it’s definitely a diss! I can’t believe it, Drake and Rocky beefing?! I need more details, stat!

Drake directly calls out A$AP in the song, telling him, “K-Y-S, A-S-A-P, that’s something I could ask you to do.”

Someone pointed out a line in Drake’s song – “we sharing women I already slept with when I was at my peak” – and suggested on X (formerly Twitter) that it’s a diss aimed at A$AP Rocky.

The song’s criticisms weren’t just aimed at other musicians. LeBron James also appeared to be targeted in “Make Them Remember,” likely because he went to Kendrick Lamar’s concert in Los Angeles in 2024 while the feud with Drake was ongoing.

Honestly, it doesn’t even surprise me to see someone constantly changing sides. I’ve observed this pattern a lot in my work – people building their careers by repeatedly aligning themselves with whoever’s ‘winning’ at the moment. It’s a strategy, sadly, but one I’ve definitely seen play out time and time again.

Look, I’m a huge fan, and I’ve been following everything closely. He finally addressed the back and forth with another artist, and honestly, it was pretty direct. He asked people to stop speculating about the situation with this other guy, and then said, and I’m paraphrasing, that their core differences are just… fundamental. He even made a point about it being ‘in his DNA,’ which is a really layered comment – a nod to LeBron James’ jersey number, 23, but also a reference to Kendrick Lamar’s song, ‘DNA.’ It’s clear this isn’t just a surface-level disagreement.

Drake didn’t aim every new lyric as an insult. In his song “2 Hard 4 The Radio,” he actually gave a nod to NBA star Steph Curry, mentioning Curry’s college team and jersey number.

People used to inquire about Davidson’s whereabouts, but now everyone is sporting a ‘blue thirty’ – likely referring to a bottle of Blue Curaçao or a similar liqueur – on their back.

Drake’s new albums have sparked a lot of discussion, but the rivalry between Drake and Kendrick isn’t the only famous celebrity feud happening right now. Here’s a look at some other notable conflicts.

In January 2024, Bobby addressed speculation about a disagreement with Tan, following his announcement in November 2023 that he was leaving Queer Eye after eight seasons. (Bobby is pictured second from left.)

He told Vanity Fair that he and Tan are doing okay despite a personal issue. He explained it was something between the two of them, unrelated to their work on the show, and emphasized it wasn’t a romantic matter—it had been building up for a while, but it was purely personal.

In March 2024, Tan addressed claims that he tried to get his friend Jeremiah Brent to replace Bobby on the show Queer Eye.

Netflix and the production team held extensive auditions. I didn’t recommend my friend for the role, but they ultimately got it because they were the most qualified. I also want to be clear that I didn’t help them get the part by having anyone else removed from consideration, as he explained on Instagram.

During a September 2023 game of “Stir the Pot” with her daughter, Kelly Osbourne, on TopMob News, Sharon Osbourne revealed that she considered Danny Masterson, known from “That ’70s Show,” to be the rudest celebrity she’d ever encountered. She described him as a very rude and unpleasant person.

He did not respond to her remarks publicly.

Five years ago, Sharon shared with Larry King that Ashton seemed upset during his 2014 appearance on The Talk after she mispronounced his name.

She remembered him asking, ‘Who are you and what have you accomplished in this field?’ She responded sharply, telling him, ‘Don’t underestimate me, because I will completely overwhelm you.’ She finished by saying, ‘You have no idea who you’re talking to.’

In August 2022, Cassadee Pope and Maren Morris clashed with Brittany Aldean, the wife of country singer Jason Aldean, after Brittany posted a video on Instagram. In the video, posted on August 23rd, Brittany thanked her parents for not allowing her to transition genders during a phase where she preferred traditionally masculine interests, stating she now enjoys a feminine lifestyle.

In a 2022 TikTok trend, JoJo Siwa called Candace Cameron Bure the “rudest” celebrity she’d ever met. She explained that this was because Bure once declined to pose for a photo with her at a red carpet event. Soon after, Bure publicly apologized, saying she regretted hurting Siwa’s feelings when she was younger and expressed sincere remorse for not taking the picture.

Candace and the other person resolved their differences. However, when asked months later if her network, Great American Family, would ever feature same-sex couples as the main characters in holiday films, she stated it wouldn’t, explaining that the network would continue to focus on traditional marriage.

JoJo, who publicly shared they are part of the LGBTQ+ community in 2021, responded to the actress’ comment on Instagram, calling it “rude and hurtful to an entire community.”

In June 2021, Courtney Love claimed that Olivia Rodrigo had copied the album cover art of her band, Hole, for a promotional photo without giving proper credit. Olivia responded with a simple, “Love u and live through this sooooo much.” Courtney then playfully replied, “Olivia – you’re welcome. My favorite florist is in Notting Hill, London! DM me for details! I look forward to reading your note [winking face emoji].”

While on Watch What Happens Live, the actor from Happy Days explained why he and the star of Forrest Gump didn’t get along while filming their 1989 movie, Turner & Hooch.

I directed the movie for thirteen days, and then Jeff Katzenberg, the producer, called me into his office and told me to pack up and go home, as I had everything I needed with me, he said.

Winkler and Hanks’ dog seemed to get along famously. “I really loved that dog,” Winkler said.

He also refused to admit if he’s even seen the flick.

“You know what you did!”

Anyone who watched The Hills probably remembers Lauren’s famous line from the start of season three. The drama between her and Heidi began when Heidi started dating Spencer Pratt. It really exploded when Lauren claimed Heidi and Spencer spread a false rumor that she’d made a sex tape with her boyfriend at the time, Jason Wahler.

Tyrese and Dwayne Johnson had a public falling out in 2017 after the release date for Fast & Furious 9 was delayed until April 2020. Tyrese voiced his frustrations with Dwayne on Instagram. Coincidentally, the same day, a Fast & Furious spin-off film featuring Dwayne and Jason Statham was announced, set to release in 2019. The following month, Tyrese even said he would leave Fast 9 if Dwayne was still involved.

Tyrese recently discussed the conflict with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, telling Van Lathan on The Red Pill podcast that they still haven’t spoken directly, though he hopes to. He mentioned he did speak with one of Johnson’s producing partners, but not with Johnson himself.

Tyrese admitted he shouldn’t have publicly shared frustrations on behalf of others connected to the franchise, saying it was unprofessional and a mistake he takes responsibility for. He explained he was the only one who spoke out, and that was his own fault.

No more bad blood here.

Taylor Swift and Katy Perry were famously feuding for years, and many believed their disagreement inspired Taylor’s song “Bad Blood.” The conflict, which supposedly began because of a disagreement over a dancer and competition between their tours, ended when Katy sent Taylor an actual olive branch as a peace offering before Taylor’s Reputation Tour began.

Taylor shared in an Instagram video that she found a real olive branch in her dressing room, saying it meant a lot to her.

Taylor captioned the video, “Thank you Katy.”

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following the Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker dynamic for a long time, and for years, they successfully navigated rumors of a feud. However, things really shifted when Kim decided not to participate in another Sex and the City movie. Then, she made a few comments about Sarah Jessica Parker that definitely got people talking and brought all those old rumors back to the surface.

During a September 2017 episode of Watch What Happens Live, Andy Cohen asked Sarah Jessica Parker how she felt about Kim Cattrall telling Piers Morgan they had only been colleagues, not friends.

She was really upset about something, saying she was heartbroken. They had talked about it all week, and she felt it didn’t match her memory of what happened. She just found the whole situation very disturbing.

It’s definitely sad, but I believe what truly connects us is the shared experience we all had. It started as a professional collaboration, but over the years, it became something deeply personal. I’m hoping that the impact of those years, and the special connection people felt, will outweigh any recent disagreements. It was a real privilege to be a part of something so meaningful for so long.

And though they didn’t film scenes together, Kim did make a small appearance on And Just Like That.

Elton John and Madonna have been publicly disagreeing since 2004. The conflict began when Elton, while accepting an award, criticized Madonna’s live performances. He famously told the audience, “Madonna, best live act? That’s ridiculous!” He went on to say that lip-syncing shouldn’t be considered a live performance, and suggested performers who lip-sync during paid concerts shouldn’t be doing so.

The actress, formerly known for her role on Grey’s Anatomy, caused a disagreement with the show’s creator back in 2008 when she asked to be removed from Emmy Award consideration. She explained her decision by saying she didn’t believe she’d been given strong enough storylines to deserve a nomination.

Shonda Rhimes discussed Katherine Heigl’s departure during a 2012 interview with Oprah Winfrey on Oprah’s Next Chapter. She admitted it was both hurtful and expected. “When someone consistently demonstrates their true character, you should believe them,” Shonda explained. “I’ve really taken that to heart, and it’s been a valuable lesson for me.”

The fight between Nicki and Cardi at the Harper’s Bazaar Icon party during New York Fashion Week became a major news story. A month later, Cardi publicly explained what started the argument with Nicki.

Cardi B told W magazine that someone has been repeatedly criticizing her. She explained that she’d talked to this person twice and thought they had resolved the issue, but the criticism continued.

The conflict really escalated when Cardi B noticed Nicki Minaj had seemingly liked, then unliked, a tweet criticizing Cardi’s parenting. Nicki has stated she didn’t actually interact with the tweet.

Cardi B explained she turned down a potentially hugely profitable Bruno Mars tour so she could be with her daughter, and she doesn’t regret it. She emphasized how much she loves her daughter and considers herself a great mother. She also responded to criticism about where she encountered another artist, saying opportunities like that don’t come around often, and she wasn’t going to wait for another chance encounter in a public place.

The conflict between Kanye West and Taylor Swift began in 2009 when he interrupted her acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards. They later reconciled and became friends, but their relationship fell apart in 2016 following the release of Kanye’s song “Famous,” which mentioned Taylor by name.

Just before the Grammy Awards in February 2025, Kanye West began following only Taylor Swift on Instagram. He didn’t offer any explanation for this action, and Taylor Swift hasn’t publicly acknowledged it.

“I don’t know her.”

The rumored rivalry between Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez began in 2003 during a German television interview. When asked about Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey famously responded, “I don’t know her.”
