Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 returns to Hawkins, bringing the group back together to battle a new supernatural threat to their town.
This series takes place between the second and third seasons of the original show and follows Eleven and her friends – now with a new voice cast – on a fascinating new journey. They’re joined by a new character named Nikki Baxter, voiced by Odessa A’zion.
Eric Robles, the showrunner, explained to TopMob that while the first series built up to huge, world-ending threats by its fifth season, he and the Duffer Brothers (who helped produce the new show) decided to make the stakes smaller and more personal for this animated version.
He explained that they aimed to capture the simple joys of childhood – things like riding bikes, solving mysteries with walkie-talkies and flashlights, and just being kids.
But, with all episodes out now, will Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 be back for a season 2?
Will there be a Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 season 2?
Although Netflix hasn’t confirmed a second season of Stranger Things: Tales from ’85, they haven’t dismissed the possibility either.
Brooklyn Davey Norstedt, the actress who plays Eleven, shared with TopMob that she’d be thrilled to explore more of the character and knows the show’s creators have ideas for the future.
They’re currently concentrating all their efforts on releasing the first season, which we believe will be fantastic for families to enjoy together. Everyone is really excited about it, and any further developments would be a bonus.
In an interview with TopMob, showrunner Robles explained that if the series continues, they plan to connect the storyline back to the start of season 3 of the original show.

When could a potential Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 season 2 be released?
We don’t know when a second season might come out, as we haven’t seen how the show performs yet.
Tales from 85 has been in development since 2022, and given how long animation takes, we estimate a new episode won’t be released until around 2028.
Of course, that’s just speculation at this stage and nothing has been confirmed.

What could a potential Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 season 2 be about?
It’s possible a new season of Stranger Things could immediately follow the events of the first, since season three doesn’t begin until the summer of 1985. This would likely involve the group confronting another otherworldly danger and working to protect their town, Hawkins.
The first season of Tales from ’85 didn’t offer a definitive conclusion. The very last scene showed signs of new growth in the Upside Down, hinting that even bigger dangers are coming.
