Halo Studios is clearly committed to bringing the Halo series to PlayStation consoles for the very first time. They’ve even indicated a preference for PS5 and PS4 within the Halo Insider program, suggesting these are key platforms for the franchise.
This program lets players try out new Halo games before they’re released and share their thoughts. Here’s how it’s officially described:
The Halo Insider Program is how dedicated Halo fans can work directly with 343 Industries to make our games and services even better. As a member, you’ll get to share your thoughts and help guide the future of the Halo franchise. You’ll also have exclusive chances to playtest upcoming Halo games and give our developers your feedback.
The Halo community account, grunt.api, has noticed a new feature allowing players to specify their preferred console – PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, PlayStation 4, or PlayStation 4 Pro – when signing up for potential Halo test flights.
According to the official Halo Insider website, all the enhancements and fixes made to Halo: The Master Chief Collection came directly from player feedback gathered through the program. This shows it’s much more than a simple beta test.
Not every Halo Insider will be chosen for every test flight, as each flight focuses on specific goals and needs. To increase your chances of being selected, please make sure your Halo Insider profile is complete and up-to-date, including a confirmed email address.
The arrival of Halo on PlayStation starts with a revamped version of the original Halo: Combat Evolved campaign from 2001. This remake stays true to the original while updating the graphics and gameplay, and it includes new story missions that take place before the main game. Players can also experience the campaign with up to three friends online, and the game features nine weapons that were introduced in later Halo titles.
