Tori Spelling Cancels Las Vegas Appearance Amid Illness

Tori Spelling is focusing on her health.

Shannen Doherty, known for her role on Beverly Hills, 90210, shared that she and Brian Austin Green had to miss their scheduled appearance at the ’90s After Dark Party in Las Vegas on December 28th because of an illness they didn’t specify.

As a lifestyle expert, I always say it’s important to be honest about disappointments, and that’s exactly what Tori did when she shared with her fans on Instagram how upset she was to postpone something she’d been really looking forward to. She mentioned she’d been eagerly anticipating this moment and was truly heartbroken to have to put it on hold.

The 52-year-old said it was difficult to share the news, explaining that she needs to prioritize her health and listen to what her body needs right now.

She went on to say, “Thank you for always being so loving and understanding.” She added that they’d be seeing each other again soon, and she was excited for their next date, hinting it would be in the evening.

Tori and Brian, both 52, had planned a one-time ’90s-themed party at Voltaire inside Las Vegas’ Venetian Resort, promising guests a nostalgic trip back in time. The event was to feature a DJ spinning ’90s hits and a performance by the R&B group Color Me Badd. However, a new date for the party has not been announced.

Tori recently recovered from a severe case of COVID-19 she caught in mid-October, and this isn’t the first health challenge she’s faced lately.

She described a severe experience with COVID on her podcast in November, saying, ‘I got really sick. People often think of COVID as just a mild cold, but this was much worse – it felt like a completely new, more intense version.’

Thankfully, none of Tori Spelling and her ex-husband Dean McDermott’s children – Liam, 18, Stella, 17, Hattie, 14, Finn, 13, and Beau, 8 – became ill. However, Tori herself was severely affected.

“I was out, out, down,” she recalled, “like bedridden, down for three weeks.”

The podcast host shared that she had a really bad sinus infection and needed three courses of antibiotics to get better.

“Exorcism,” she joked, “was the valid term for what was happening to my body.”

It’s been really tough hearing about Tori’s health, but she’s not alone. So many celebrities I admire have faced their own serious health battles, and I’ve been following their stories too. It’s inspiring, but also heartbreaking to see what they go through.

Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe this! Nikki just told everyone that during her match with Piper Niven back in July 2025, one of her breast implants shifted after Piper hit her with an elbow! I mean, can you even imagine?! It’s absolutely crazy, and honestly, a little scary, but she’s such a warrior! I’ve been following her forever, and this just proves how tough she is, even when things go seriously wrong in the ring. I was so worried when I heard, but relieved it wasn’t anything life-threatening. It’s just…wow. Nikki is incredible!

She reassured her sister, Bella Garcia, that she would get the issue resolved eventually. She explained to the doctor that as soon as she retired from her current job, she’d return to address the problem and ensure everything looked its best, anticipating future use and wanting it to be presentable.

Lupita Nyong’o, known for her role in 12 Years a Slave, received a diagnosis of uterine fibroids—non-cancerous growths in or around the uterus—in 2014, the year she won an Academy Award for her performance in the film.

She didn’t reveal her diagnosis until 2025, sharing on Instagram that she’d been privately struggling with it for over ten years.

She explained that many girls are taught to accept period pain as a normal part of being a woman. This often leaves them dealing with a common issue in silence and feeling isolated.

In July 2025, the actress from Daisy Jones & The Six revealed she’d been hospitalized for a hernia. This happened because she’d been wearing pants that were too tight, which caused a gap to form in her abdominal muscles.

Someone messaged Suki on X (formerly Twitter) saying, “You haven’t tweeted in a while!” Suki jokingly replied, “Have you thought maybe I wore pants so tight six months ago that I got a hernia and I’ve been afraid to mention it?”

The former star of Beverly Hills, 90210 shared in April 2025 that he was recovering from surgery because his appendix was close to rupturing.

He added, “I’m on the road to recovery. It’s not an easy process. This is my first major surgery.”

During a soccer game against Seattle Reign on September 14th at Lumen Field in Seattle, a midfielder for Racing Louisville collapsed after only a few minutes of play.

Oh my gosh, it was awful! I was watching the game and she just started to slowly sink to the ground, with a teammate there to help her. Reuters reported it, and honestly, it happened so fast – she completely collapsed just seconds after sitting down. I was so worried! They immediately called for the trainers, but it was terrifying to watch.

He acknowledged that his pain fluctuates, explaining that his body has some minor imperfections and isn’t quite working as it should.

I was so worried to hear that one of our Bachelor Nation guys had to be hospitalized! Apparently, he was dealing with terrible back pain, and it got so bad during an RV trip with a friend that he literally had to crawl on all fours to get help. It sounds absolutely awful, and I’m sending him all my best wishes for a speedy recovery.

He described a lingering tingling sensation in his knees and toes during a March 2025 episode of his podcast, Trading Secrets. To illustrate the extent of the issue, he explained that just a few weeks or a month prior, he was able to squat 295 pounds. Now, he can’t even do a squat, struggles with single-leg squats, and often falls over, comparing the feeling to having had a stroke.

But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

In February 2025, the former Even Stevens star revealed she was accidentally shot in the face during a birthday celebration for her husband, Brendan Rooney. They were on a trip to go clay pigeon shooting when the incident occurred.

In an Instagram post, she explained that she was accidentally shot in the face by someone at a party who fired a weapon unsafely. Thankfully, @thebrendanrooney quickly helped her, evaluated her injuries, and drove her to the hospital. She was hit five times, and one bullet came dangerously close to her right eye – less than an inch away.

She urged everyone to cherish their loved ones and hug them whenever possible.

Amy Schumer is grateful for the internet, despite its often negative side, because it helped her discover a health issue. After noticing she looked “puffier” and facing criticism online, doctors began commenting on interviews, suggesting she might have Cushing syndrome – a condition potentially caused by high cortisol levels or steroid injections. This prompted Schumer to realize she’d received steroid injections after a breast reduction and C-section. She wouldn’t have known about the condition without the online feedback. Thankfully, doctors determined her case of Cushing syndrome would resolve on its own, which Schumer described as “the greatest news imaginable.” She shared this relief in a February 2024 newsletter, happy to be healthy.

In December 2024, an AHL player suffered a skate cut during a game and needed 25 stitches to close the wound. In March 2022, Hailey Bieber experienced a frightening health scare while having breakfast with her husband, Justin Bieber. She suddenly developed stroke-like symptoms, initially unable to respond when Justin asked if she was okay. She then realized she couldn’t speak and the right side of her face began to droop.

Although the symptoms eventually subsided, Hailey went to the hospital where scans revealed she’d had a small blood clot in her brain, diagnosed as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack). Further testing at UCLA discovered she had a hole in her heart, called a patent foramen ovale (PFO).

Doctors determined the blood clot had traveled through the PFO and to her brain, causing the TIA. Hailey successfully underwent a procedure to close the hole in her heart and is now doing well.

The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also experienced one. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition that caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. This forced him to cancel the remaining dates of his Justice World Tour.

In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained that the virus affected the nerves in his ear and face, preventing him from blinking, smiling, or moving his nostril on the affected side. He also shared that it was becoming increasingly difficult for him to eat.

Fortunately, the paralysis eventually went away. Hailey shared on Good Morning America that Justin was recovering well and feeling much better, adding that while the situation was frightening, he was going to be okay and she was grateful he was on the mend.

Jamie Foxx recently shared details about the serious health scare he experienced in April 2023, which he had initially kept private. In his 2024 Netflix special, What Had Happened Was…, he explained that he was suffering from a severe headache when he suddenly lost consciousness. He doesn’t remember the next 20 days.

Initially, a doctor gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but his sister, Deidra Dixon, was worried and took him to the hospital. There, they discovered he’d had a brain bleed that led to a stroke.

After surgery, Jamie woke up in a wheelchair on May 4th, unable to walk. He then traveled to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy. He expressed deep gratitude for the prayers he received, saying, “I needed every prayer.”

The reality TV star said she briefly stopped breathing while running in the first challenge of the NBC competition show, describing the experience as feeling like ‘dying’.

She shared on the show Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser that her memory of the event was fragmented. She recalled hearing a helicopter, feeling like she was floating, and then seeing her grandfather. After that, everything went dark, but then she saw light, leading her to realize she had died that day.

She explained that her organs were failing. She hadn’t known she had rhabdomyolysis, a condition where the body essentially starts to shut down.

Emilia Clarke, known for her role in Game of Thrones, revealed a harrowing health battle in a 2019 essay for The New Yorker. While filming the show, she experienced a sudden, severe headache while at the gym. She described becoming violently ill and realizing something was seriously wrong with her brain.

A hospital scan revealed she had suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), a life-threatening stroke caused by a ruptured aneurysm. She immediately underwent surgery to repair it, but the pain was excruciating. During her recovery, she experienced aphasia, leaving her unable to speak clearly.

Though she left the hospital after a month, a 2013 scan revealed the aneurysm had grown and required a second surgery. This procedure failed, causing a major bleed and putting her life at risk. Doctors had to perform a more invasive surgery, accessing her brain directly through her skull.

Fortunately, Emilia Clarke now says she has made a full recovery and is doing well.

Cori Broadus, Snoop Dogg’s daughter, recently shared her gratitude for her family’s support after she experienced a stroke in January 2024. Shailene Woodley struggled with significant health issues throughout her 20s. In a September 2024 podcast interview, she revealed she experienced hearing loss, debilitating fatigue, and digestive problems. She described a confusing process of receiving multiple diagnoses from different doctors.

Determined to find answers, Woodley combined traditional medical care with holistic and herbal remedies, drawing on her background in herbalism. This search for well-being lasted for a decade.

The physical discomfort led to emotional challenges, including fear of food and issues with body image and self-identity. Woodley described this as a confusing and difficult period.

Fortunately, after years of addressing both her physical and mental health, Shailene is now feeling much better and considers herself very healthy. She’s grateful to be in a good place.
