Cyclops and Jean Grey have been propelled far into the future, specifically the year 3960, while Professor X, Magneto, Rogue, Nightcrawler, and Beast are sent back to ancient Egypt in 3000 BC. Bishop and Forge are left dealing with the fallout stuck in the 1990s.
The new series, X-Men ’97, which premiered in March 2024, picks up the story of the beloved X-Men: The Animated Series from the 1990s and features many of the same creators. However, the start of Season 2 finds the team scattered across time, which means less of the strong group interaction that fans enjoyed in the first season.
