Travis Kelce’s Involvement in Taylor Swift’s “Opalite” Remix Revealed

Travis Kelce kept it 100 in the on the land, the sea and DMs.

He even produced a remix of his fiancée Taylor Swift’s recent song! DJ Chris Lake shared screenshots of their conversation showing how the British musician created the house music version of “Opalite” from Taylor’s album, The Life of a Showgirl.

I was absolutely thrilled when Chris reached out to share this! Apparently, Travis and Taylor hit him up about doing an official remix, and of course, he jumped at the chance! He’s now taking preorders for the CD of his official remix of Taylor’s “Opalite,” and says more details about the release are coming soon. He even made sure to get Travis’s okay before sharing screenshots of their conversation – so cool!

Chris messaged No. 87 directly after finding out that both he and Taylor were fans of his music.

I was absolutely floored when Travis reached out! He messaged me on January 16th saying he and Taylor had been listening to my music, which was incredible. Then he said he was going to try remixing one of my tracks for Taylor! He admitted he wasn’t sure how it would go, but promised to give it his all, and honestly, I was so excited and honored.

Travis responded enthusiastically, saying, “Chris, you’re amazing! I love everything you create, and ‘Chemistry’ is one of my current favorite albums. I’m really excited to see what you do with it.”

The very next day, Chris explained to the NFL player that the song was already progressing well, but needed to be shortened.

After Travis sent the completed song on January 20th, Taylor reacted with enthusiastic emojis – a brain explosion and fire – and confirmed she loved it.

Travis texted, ‘This is amazing!’ He plans to listen to it on every drive and said his girlfriend loves it as well. She mentioned her work team would be in touch soon.

As everyone knows, what happened next became legendary. On February 13th, Taylor announced a pre-order link for her new single, which also included a limited-edition CD set.

It’s easy to see why Travis connected with the remix – the song, the third track on The Life of a Showgirl, was actually inspired by his birthstone and his experience of finding love again after a difficult heartbreak.

Travis shared in an October interview with Capital FM that his birthstone is an opal, and he’s always been drawn to the gem. He sees a connection between the stone and his songwriting, explaining that opalite, a man-made opal, represents the idea that happiness, too, can be created. His song explores this contrast – the idea of something beautiful being both natural and artificial.

Taylor released the music video for her song on February 6th, and it’s full of hidden details! The video features appearances by Domhnall Gleeson, Jodie Turner-Smith, Lewis Capaldi, Greta Lee, Cillian Murphy, and talk show host Graham Norton.

As rumors about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce swirl, plus hidden details from her show, The Life of a Showgirl, continue to emerge, keep reading for all the latest!

The first song on Taylor Swift’s album, The Life of a Showgirl, alludes to Ophelia, a character from William Shakespeare’s play Hamlet, who experiences a heartbreaking story.

The song suggests Taylor could have been overwhelmed by sadness if it weren’t for the person she loves.

“I heard you calling / On the megaphone,” Taylor sings. “You wanna see me all alone.”

The song seems to reference Travis Kelce playfully teasing Taylor Swift on his podcast, New Heights, about her not being able to meet up with him during her Eras Tour – which is actually how their relationship started.

“I swore loyalty to me, myself and I,” the lyrics continue. “Right before you lit my sky up.”

Just before she met Travis, Taylor had recently ended things with Matty Healy and had publicly described herself as independent in July 2023.

But after Travis went to her concert in Kansas City that same month, sparks began to fly.

Taylor’s fiancé is now part of her tradition of hiding clues for fans. Back in July, he playfully hinted at lyrics from her song “The Fate of Ophelia” on Instagram, sharing photos with Taylor and writing, “Had some adventures this offseason,” and adding, “Kept it real.”

How does this relate to Taylor’s song? The lyrics say, “You rescued me from a difficult time and saved my heart, but be honest with me.”

In the second song on the album, Taylor pays tribute to the iconic Elizabeth Taylor, referencing places the actress loved, including the Plaza Athénée in Paris and Musso & Frank’s in Los Angeles.

Taylor’s lyrics also compare her to Elizabeth Taylor, the famous actress. Just like Taylor experiences today, Elizabeth was constantly in the news, whether it was about her relationships or her glamorous style.

But, as Taylor notes in her song, “Oftentimes it doesn’t feel so glamorous to be me.”

In the cheerful song “Opalite,” which Travis Kelce has said is his favorite by Taylor Swift, she sings about their relationship.

Taylor has experienced a lot of heartbreak in the past, but her relationship with Travis feels peaceful and serene, like a calm, shimmering sky.

She shared on Capital radio that she’d written down ‘opalite’ after discovering it’s a synthetic opal. Since Travis’s birthstone is opal, she’d always been drawn to the stone and remembered it fondly.

She explained the gemstone’s meaning, saying, “I saw it as a metaphor – just like the opal is created by people, happiness can be, too.”

But some fans believe Taylor subtly referenced Travis Kelce’s ex, Kayla Nicole, in her song, suggesting he once felt like an accessory in photos she posted online.

She sings, as if addressing him, about a disconnect: ‘You didn’t get why I felt so lonely. You were truly present, while she was lost in her phone.’

The lyrics continue, describing someone who was only pretending to be something they weren’t. It questions our efforts to truly love and give everything we have, and then observes someone finally walking away. The final lines suggest a cycle of wanting and emptiness – feeling deprived until that feeling disappears.

Taylor, Max Martin, and Shellback are officially listed as the songwriters for “Showgirl.” However, the late George Michael is also credited on the song “Father Figure” because it samples his 1987 hit of the same title.

Taylor Swift’s team showed their support by posting on Instagram on October 2nd, thanking her for including George in a memorable moment.

Many fans believe the first part of the song is told from the point of view of Scott Borchetta, the head of Big Machine Records, who originally sold Taylor Swift’s master recordings to Scooter Braun. They think the song then shifts to Taylor’s perspective as she works to regain ownership of her music.

Taylor herself admitted that the song was “written in character.”

She mentioned on BBC Radio 1 that writing the piece was enjoyable. She explained it explores the concept of a father figure in a new way, using it to discuss power, how power is organized, and shifts in who holds it.

She’s particularly pleased with a risqué line in her work where she boasts about having a larger… endowment, framing it as leverage in a deal with the devil.

We’re now at the fifth track on Taylor Swift’s Showgirl, and historically, this is where she places her most emotionally devastating songs.

In her song “Eldest Daughter,” Taylor Swift reflects on the ups and downs of life, emphasizing her unwavering commitment to her family – particularly her parents, Andrea and Scott Swift, and her brother, Austin Swift.

The song emphasizes loyalty and strength, stating, ‘I’m not someone who causes trouble, and I’m not ruthless. I promise I’ll always be there for you and won’t abandon you.’ It acknowledges the presence of disloyal people, but reaffirms a commitment to keeping that promise, no matter what.

The sixth track on the album Showgirl recounts a missed romantic opportunity and the lingering sadness that follows. The song evokes a strong sense of nostalgia, painting a picture of a prom night where the singer remembers seeing someone special. The lyrics describe a moment of hesitation – “Have fun, it’s prom / Wilted corsage dangles from my wrist…” – and a regretful realization that they should have taken a chance, as expressed in the lines, “Should’ve kissed you anyway,” all while the song “50 Cent” played in the background.

Taylor Swift references her close friend Abigail Anderson – who inspired the song “Fifteen” – in poignant lyrics about losing touch: “When I left school, I lost track of you / Abigail called me with the bad news / Goodbye, and we’ll never know why.”

Many fans believe the heartbreaking song is about Taylor Swift’s late friend, Jeff Lang, who passed away in 2010. He’s also thought to have been the inspiration behind her earlier song, “Forever Winter.”

In the song, released in 2021 as part of the Red album, she sings about not realizing someone was struggling and how much she’d fall apart without them. She reflects on being too young to understand things improve, promising to be a constant source of happiness (“summer sun”) but fearing a bleak future (“forever winter”) if they leave.

Despite its title, “Actually Romantic” isn’t really a love song. Instead, it’s Taylor Swift’s response to someone who has spent a considerable amount of time discussing her.

Taylor sings about a confusing situation: she happily greeted her ex, but then you expressed relief that he had cut off contact with her. He even wrote a song about how much he dislikes her, which she finds strangely endearing, even though others might be upset by it.

Taylor Swift doesn’t usually say who her songs are about, but many fans think a recent one was inspired by Charli XCX. Charli opened for Taylor on the Reputation Tour and is friends with Taylor’s ex-boyfriend, Matty, and his partner, Gabbriette Bechtel.

After Charli released her album brat in June 2024—Charli is married to George Daniel, who plays in the band The 1975—some people thought her song “Sympathy is a Knife” was a dig at Taylor Swift. But two months later, Taylor appeared to dismiss those rumors by publicly complimenting Charli’s work.

Taylor Swift shared that she’s been impressed with Charli XCX’s musical talent ever since hearing her song ‘Stay Away’ back in 2011. In an interview with New York magazine, published on August 26th, Swift praised Charli’s songwriting as unique and imaginative, noting her ability to take songs in unexpected directions consistently for over ten years. Swift expressed her admiration for Charli’s dedication and success.

Okay, Swifties, I’m seeing a lot of chatter about another possible clue related to Charli XCX! It looks like Taylor’s latest Spotify cover art features her holding an apple – and that’s exactly the title of Charli’s huge hit song from this year. Could this be a hint at a collaboration or shout-out? It’s definitely got fans buzzing, and honestly, I’m intrigued!

TopMob News has reached out to reps for comment on the speculation and has not heard back.

On the very top of Taylor’s wish list? A forever with Travis. That includes starting a family.

“I just want you,” she sings. “Have a couple kids / Got the whole block looking like you.”

The artist even admitted it’s one of her favorite tracks on the album.

She explained to Magic radio that recording that particular song signaled the end of the album process. She described it as a deeply emotional and honest reflection of her current life, leading to a feeling of completion.

Taylor says hoping for love never worked for her in the past. But now that she’s with Travis, she feels confident and doesn’t feel the need to rely on luck at all.

Honestly, when she sings about not even needing to catch the bouquet to know things are about to get real… it just gets me. Like, she just knows a wild ride is coming, a total rock and roll moment, and she doesn’t need some silly tradition to tell her! It’s so powerful and relatable, you know? It’s like she’s reading my mind!

She was correct: Taylor and Travis got engaged in August 2025, after dating for two years.

The song features suggestive lyrics and also references New Heights, the podcast Taylor Swift says brought her and Travis Kelce together.

In the tenth song, Taylor describes mentoring someone who’s facing public backlash, a situation she understands well from her own experiences.

“Let’s go,” she said. “People will scatter when they see us.” She added with a playful tone, “It’s probably a good thing my friends bailed – I prefer them surrounded by luxury and a little bit of drama.”

As a dedicated fan, I’ve seen everyone buzzing about whether this song is about Taylor’s friendships with Brittany Mahomes or Blake Lively. There’s a lot of speculation that she’s referencing them in the lyrics, and honestly, it wouldn’t surprise me!

The singer explained her perspective comes from understanding what it’s like to face public struggles, possibly drawing from the highly publicized conflict between Kim Kardashian and Kanye West in 2016.

After personally facing intense public scrutiny and being involved in several high-profile, controversial situations throughout my career, it feels like it’s changed how I navigate life, she explained to Amazon Music.

Taylor added that seeing others face challenges often makes you realize they’ll likely grow from the experience. If they can overcome those difficulties, they’ll become stronger and learn valuable lessons along the way.

Ultimately, “Cancelled!” is about my refusal to simply abandon someone just because others disapprove of them. I form my own opinions of people based on their behavior towards me and their actions in my life.

Okay, seriously, ‘Honey’ is EVERYTHING. It’s just as adorable as you’d expect, and track 11… oh my gosh, track 11! Taylor basically says that Travis has completely changed the meaning of words for her. Like, she used to associate words like ‘honey’ and ‘sweetheart’ with… well, with things from her past. But now? Now, when she thinks of those words, all she thinks of is him. It’s the cutest thing ever, honestly. He’s totally redefined her world!

Taylor sings about feeling uplifted and joyful when someone calls her ‘honey.’ She describes a perfect summer scene – bright skies and a refreshing drink – and playfully suggests she’s the person her lover desires.

In fact, Travis did call Taylor “sweetie” during her debut appearance on New Heights in August.

For her final act, Taylor teamed up with friend Sabrina Carpenter.

The song “Elizabeth Taylor” offers a peek into the life of a showgirl, revealing that even though the job appears glamorous, it comes with sacrifices. An experienced performer shares this reality with a rising star.

The song’s words tell a story of a woman longing for a wonderful life, saying she’d give anything to experience it. But the lyrics point out that showgirls rarely get that chance – they’re often used and then discarded.

Finally, after experiencing what it’s like to be a showgirl, the performers come together for a last bow, cheerfully saying, “That’s all folks! We appreciate your support, goodnight!”

The song is about encountering someone you really admire, but instead of being inspiring, they actually advise you not to pursue the same path. They’re just being truthful about the difficulties of the entertainment industry, but you decide to follow your dreams anyway, despite the warning.
