New Horizon Game Will Be Playable For The First Time This Month (Here’s How to Sign Up)

Good news for fans of the Horizon series – there are a few new games on the way! The latest announcement is Horizon Hunters Gathering, a co-op action game set within the Horizon universe, which was revealed earlier this month. While it might mean fans have to wait a bit longer for the next major Horizon game, this new title offers a fresh way to experience the world. Playtesting for Horizon Hunters Gathering begins at the end of February 2026 with a select group of players, following its reveal on February 5th.

Horizon Hunters Gathering will soon let players try out the game with its first playtest, available through the PlayStation Beta Program. While the specific dates aren’t set, it’s expected to happen around the end of February. The game’s initial trailer received a mixed response, with some fans unsure about the new art style and focus on cooperative gameplay. This playtest should give everyone a better idea of what it’s like to actually play Horizon Hunters Gathering.

How to Sign Up For the Horizon Hunters Gathering Playtest

Horizon Hunters Gathering, unveiled on February 5th, is a cooperative action game where you team up with two other players to battle dangerous machines. You’ll be able to choose from a diverse group of Hunters, each with unique abilities and weapons, allowing you to create the perfect team. Beyond the action, the game features a continuing story campaign that unfolds as you fight the machines. Players will soon have a chance to experience the gameplay for themselves.

The Horizon series has been a staple of PlayStation for years, so it’s fitting that the first test of Horizon Hunters Gathering will be through the PlayStation Beta Program. Good news for PC gamers though – the game is also planned for PC as well as PS5, and players on both platforms can participate in the February playtest. You’ll need a PlayStation account to sign up, but if you’re a Horizon fan, you probably already have one.

The link in the post below is the easiest way to get there, but you can also log in to the Beta Program and search for available playtests. After you sign in with your Sony account and register, you’ll receive a confirmation message. This means you’ve entered for a chance to play Horizon Hunters Gathering before it’s released.
