Steve Carell wasn’t always crazy about Crazy, Stupid, Love—as a movie title, that is.
Steve Carell, known for his role in The 40-Year-Old Virgin, recently shared that he didn’t immediately love the title of the 2011 romantic comedy he made with Ryan Gosling, Julianne Moore, and Emma Stone. He explained that finding the right name for the movie turned out to be surprisingly difficult.
He admitted he didn’t initially care for the show’s title. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight published on March 4th, he explained that when Dan Fogelman first wrote the script, it didn’t have a title at all – it was simply referred to as Untitled Dan Fogelman Project. He says he appreciates the title now, though.
Steve, 63, remembered everyone offering suggestions for the movie’s title, but none of them quite fit the film’s overall message. Eventually, the studio had to choose a title before the movie came out in theaters.
Warner Bros. finally settled on the title “Crazy, Stupid, Love,” and honestly, my reaction was just a lukewarm, “Okay.”
Luckily, the movie was a success with both critics and audiences, showing Steve that the title wasn’t the most important factor in its popularity.
He believes that a good product will be well-received regardless of its title. He feels the name itself isn’t important as long as the quality is there.
Oh my gosh, Steve Carell has played so many amazing characters, but honestly, nothing beats his Michael Scott on The Office! It’s still wild to me how many people love that show, and it’s not just us older fans either – there’s a whole new generation discovering it, which Steve himself says totally blows his mind! He can’t believe how many young people are obsessed with it, and honestly, neither can I – it’s just that good.

He recently told NBC Insider that he finds it amusing how young people are when they discover The Office. He was always surprised, as he didn’t expect the show to resonate with younger viewers.
Steve later understood that the show’s unusual characters weren’t simply reflecting what people went through at work.
As a huge fan, I’ve always felt the genius of the show lies in how relatable the characters are. It’s like everyone recognizes them from their own lives, especially from high school! They aren’t just funny; they feel like archetypes – the person you know who is the office gossip, or the slacker, or the overachiever. You don’t even need to have worked in an office to instantly understand and connect with them, because you’ve definitely known someone like that.

As a lifestyle observer, I’ve been consistently impressed with John Krasinski’s evolution! Many know him from directing and starring in the incredibly successful A Quiet Place films – the first in 2018, a sequel in 2020, and most recently A Quiet Place: Day One in 2024. He also wrote and directed IF that same year, showcasing his creative range.
Beyond film, he’s a familiar face thanks to his role as Jack Ryan in the Amazon Prime series. And he’s a savvy producer too, lending his talents as an executive producer to shows like Lip Sync Battle and the powerful film Manchester By the Sea.
Personally, I love seeing successful couples thrive, and John and Emily Blunt are a perfect example! They married in a beautiful ceremony at George Clooney’s Italian estate back in 2008 and have since welcomed two daughters, Hazel and Violet. They’ve built a wonderful life and are surrounded by a fantastic group of friends – the Clooneys, Jennifer Aniston, Jimmy Kimmel, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are all part of their inner circle. It’s clear they’re truly one of Hollywood’s most cherished couples.
