Patrick Ball would like to stay on after his residency at The Pitt.
After seeing a news story about his colleague Noah Wyle discussing potential cast changes, the 36-year-old actor simply commented “Gulp.” on an Instagram post from April 14th.
Wyle has spoken publicly for the first time about Supriya Ganesh leaving the show. Ganesh, who plays Dr. Samira Mohan, will depart after two seasons due to a storyline decision.
As a co-creator and actor on the medical drama—where he plays Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch—Wyle explained to Variety on April 11th that cast changes are simply part of the show. The writers consistently struggle to determine how much time can pass without making it unrealistic to keep the entire main cast together.
He believes the cast changes are natural for a hospital drama, explaining that emergency rooms often see a lot of turnover. The show aims to keep things interesting by introducing new characters or giving existing ones more prominent roles whenever cast members leave.
Despite early doubts about his character’s survival, Tom Hanks, who plays Dr. Frank Langdon, is expected to be back for the third season of The Pitt.
After taking time off to deal with a drug problem, Langdon came back to work, but Robby wasn’t sure he wanted him back in the emergency room, remembering Langdon had been caught stealing drugs earlier in the series.
Just like a real emergency room where doctors trade shifts, the show is promoting Ayesha Harris, who plays Dr. Parker Ellis, to a main cast member for season three.

Harris shared on Instagram on April 2nd that Dr. Ellis still has student loan debt, joking, ‘We gotta work a double shift!’ He added that he’d been wanting to share the story for some time.
Harris, who has been with The Pitt since it began, also gave a shout-out to her departing colleague, Ganesh, writing, “To my girl @supriyaganesh_ – thanks for always being genuine since the start! Here’s to season 3! Let’s go!”
Okay, so The Pitt losing its stars is devastating, but honestly, it happens everywhere! I’ve been digging around and it turns out a ton of my other favorite shows have had major cast shake-ups too. I just had to share what I found – you won’t believe who’s left their shows!

Samira Mohan is leaving the show The Pitt. According to Variety, actress Supriya Ganesh won’t be back for the third season of the HBO Max drama.

Following what he called a “wild adventure,” Peter Krause finished his run as Bobby Nash, the fire captain on the drama 9-1-1, in an episode airing in April 2025.
According to a statement to the Hollywood Reporter, the character Bobby Nash was intentionally created to be a heroic sacrifice, embodying the bravery of first responders. Creator Ryan Krause explained that the character’s story is meant to honor those who risk their lives to save others.
The decision to kill off a fan-favorite, though troubled, firefighter was definitely controversial, showrunner Tim Minear told Variety. He explained that after eight seasons, it was necessary for the show to feel like there were real consequences, and that meant someone had to die to raise the stakes.

Summer just got a little less fun.

Okay, so this is devastating. Henry Cavill, my absolute dream Geralt, is leaving The Witcher after season three! I’m seriously heartbroken. Apparently, Liam Hemsworth is taking over the role for season four and, like, forever after that? I just… I can’t even process it. It’s going to be so weird seeing someone else as Geralt. I was so invested in Henry’s portrayal, and now… it’s just not the same. I’m trying to be open-minded about Liam, but honestly, it feels like a huge loss.

And he’s SO right to be proud of playing Jay Halstead! Honestly, that character… that performance… it was just amazing. I’m going to miss him so much, but I’m so grateful for all the incredible work he and everyone else put in.
