Charlie Cox wants Robert Pattinson to be involved in the new movie, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, but not as an actor playing a traditional role – he has a unique idea for how Pattinson could contribute.
Expedition 33 was a huge success and widely considered the best game of the year, a sentiment confirmed by its win for Best Game at the 2026 BAFTA Games Awards.
The event was significant enough that Charlie Cox, who voiced Gustave, unexpectedly appeared on the red carpet beforehand. He spoke with TopMob Gaming about the possibility of playing the character again if a movie were to be made.
He playfully mentioned hearing Glen Powell was interested in the project. He then speculated the people funding it might actually prefer Glen, though he added he’d be happy to take on a smaller part if possible.
I’m not sure what the minor characters are like yet, since I haven’t completed the game. I was just thinking, maybe I could play a simple townsperson waving farewell as the main character departs.

Cox cleverly transformed himself into the character of Gommagee, then seamlessly transitioned back to playing Gustave, effectively taking on both roles and finding a natural connection between them.
I think Robert Pattinson would be perfect to play Gustave – he really resembles the character. If I did the voice, we could essentially bring the exact Gustave from the game to life.
I’m not sure how Rob would react to me doing his voice, but I’ll worry about that if it actually comes up.
Charlie Cox, known for his role in Daredevil, was nominated for an award for his performance as Gustave, but Jeffrey Wright from Dispatch won the award instead.
Despite everything, it was a successful night for Cox and the team. Their game, Expedition 33, won two more awards: best new game and best leading performance by Jennifer English for her role as Maelle, adding to its earlier win for best game overall.
Not too shabby for a game whose own developers weren’t even sure that it would be a success.
