The Blood of Dawnwalker Won’t End After 30 In-Game Days, But “The Circumstances Will Change”

Although The Blood of Dawnwalker shares many similarities with director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz’s previous game, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the most significant difference is the limited time players have. The main character, Coen, must rescue his family from the vampire lord Brencis within just 30 days, as demonstrated throughout the game.

However, the game isn’t actually ending. As producer Dorota Rutkowska shared, “The game won’t end, but the situation will evolve.” Senior level designer Maciej Wiśniewski explained that the game world itself will become central to what happens next.

What this could mean is unknown, but considering the possibility that Coen could leave his family to die, or that you’ll skip factions (including the resistance), this could open the door to multiple endings. Maybe he can usurp Brencis as the new vampire overlord of Vale Sangora. It ultimately depends on what you want to do.

The game features dynamic weather, which we got a glimpse of during the gameplay demo. Your actions have lasting consequences beyond the main story – if you kill a blacksmith, their shop will close for good, forcing you to find a new one. Plus, the world is full of secrets, with lots of hidden items and notes to discover.

The Blood of Dawnwalker releases on September 3rd for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC, and will cost $69.99. You can find more information about the game’s story and themes at this link.
