Recent reports suggest Valve’s Steam Machine may be launching soon. Valve recently hinted at upcoming details about the device’s release date and price, and new information appears to confirm a launch is imminent. While official details are still forthcoming, it seems the Steam Machine is closer to release than ever before.
Tech analyst Brad Lynch reports that Valve has been receiving shipments of what are likely Steam Machines at its US warehouse. This suggests Valve is preparing to ship the hardware soon, as companies usually stock up on products right before their release.

Valve’s biggest challenge in releasing the Steam Machine right now is figuring out the right price. Global shortages of RAM have driven up the cost of tech products in recent months, making it difficult for Valve to determine how much the Steam Machine should cost. They likely won’t announce the price until just before it’s available for pre-order, with shipping expected to follow quickly after.
Valve is still aiming to launch the Steam Machine before the end of June 2026. While it’s faced delays in the past, recent information suggests this timeline is achievable. However, we won’t know for sure until Valve officially confirms the release date.
The Steam Controller, designed to work with the Steam Machine, will be available starting next week, May 4th, for $99. It’s also compatible with regular desktop computers and the Steam Deck handheld gaming device.
