A new documentary series will feature previously unheard recordings of Princess Diana talking about the struggles that led to the end of her marriage to Prince Charles.
A new documentary, “Diana: The Unheard Truth,” is scheduled for release in August 2027, marking the 30th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death. It will include previously unheard recordings of private conversations Diana had with her friend James Colthurst in 1991 – the same conversations that formed the foundation of Andrew Morton’s biography, “Diana: Her True Story.”
The recordings, which will be shared over three parts of the show, reveal deeply personal details, such as Princess Diana discussing her battle with bulimia and the relationship between her husband, King Charles, and Queen Camilla.
The recordings also feature the Princess’s personal reflections on her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, as well as her views on Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew.
Despite the thirty years that have passed since Princess Diana’s death, the public has only heard less than an hour of recordings related to the event.
I’m so excited for this docuseries! Love Monday TV has done an amazing job getting access to all the original archive footage. And even better, Morton and Colthurst themselves are actually in the series, which is fantastic!
Details on where it will be broadcast or stream are yet to be announced.

Love Monday TV announced the series aims to move beyond the common portrayal of Princess Diana simply as someone who suffered due to her situation, and will instead offer a more complex perspective.
The film will portray a strong, insightful, and down-to-earth young woman who, despite being thrust into the international spotlight, handles the difficulties with poise, understanding, and resolve.
We’ll get a glimpse of her lively personality and joyful laugh, as she shares what life was really like within the world’s most well-known family. We’ll also explore what she hoped for in the future – a scenario where Charles and Camilla find happiness together, allowing Diana to pursue her own independent life.

The documentary series will include interviews with people who knew Princess Diana well, such as her school friend Delissa Needham, hairstylist Sam McKnight, and astrologer Penny Thornton, in addition to archival footage.
Future episodes will also feature insights from dancer Wayne Sleep, ex-bodyguard Ken Wharfe, royal press secretary Dickie Arbiter, photographer Kent Gavin, and Daily Mail journalist Richard Kay.
This comes after ITV’s ‘Reporting History’ recently aired never-before-seen footage from Princess Diana’s well-known trip to Angola in January 1997.
