
Mike Sorrentino, known as “The Situation” from Jersey Shore, is supporting his fellow cast member, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro.
Following a recent interview where Ronnie seemed confused and distant while with his co-starsāNicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Jenni “JWoww” Farley, and Sammi “Sweetheart” GiancolaāMike addressed fan worries about Ronnie’s health and state of mind.
Mike, 43, recently posted on Instagram explaining that he isnāt accountable for the behavior of his fellow cast members. He also said he was upset by the choices Ron, another adult on the show, made during interviews.
He added that the situation is ongoing and, while he doesn’t know all the details of what the other person is experiencing, it’s a personal matter unrelated to his own life.
Mike, who has dealt with public struggles himself, says he contacted Ronnie to see how he’s doing, but hasn’t heard back yet.
The MTV star said sheāll be there for him if he wants her support. She explained that she feels for anyone going through a hard time, and sheās committed to maintaining her own recovery ā something sheās prioritized for almost eleven years ā while still offering kindness and empathy to others.

Mike, who shares three young children ā Romeo, 4, Mia, 3, and Luna, 2 ā with his wife Lauren Sorrentino, has personally battled addiction. He sought treatment in a rehab facility in 2012 and has been sober since 2015.

He told TopMob News, before the first episode of Jersey Shore Family Vacation aired in 2018, that you can definitely enjoy yourself and dance at a club without alcohol. He challenged viewers to watch the show, saying he actually has more fun when he’s sober than most people do when they’re drinking.

He admitted he kept delaying the inevitable, trying to cut back on his own. “I’d tell myself, ‘Okay, just two pills today, and only this much from the bottle,’ marking the bottle to keep track,” he remembered. “It would work for a couple of days, but then someone would have a party and it all fell apart.”
Eventually, Gilbert realized he needed professional help and entered a rehabilitation program on December 18, 2011. He explained, “I finally admitted I couldn’t overcome this on my own.” He felt frustrated and ashamed, saying, “It really bothered me, and I’m usually a strong person, but I just couldn’t make it stick.”
