Relationships can be tough. After 18 years together, Jason Biggs and Jenny Mollen have decided to separate, according to their representative. Despite the split, they are remaining friendly and are committed to co-parenting their two sons, 12-year-old Sid and 8-year-old Lazlo.
Interestingly, their relationship may have started under a bit of a bad omen. Jenny Mollen revealed on a talk show that she first met Jason on Friday the 13th, joking that he’d also walked under a ladder and run over a black cat shortly before they met.
Believe it or not, they met on a blind date. However, Mollen wasn’t going in completely unaware – she’d already watched Biggs’ audition for their 2008 film, My Best Friend’s Girl. She even suggested to a producer that they cast a different actor, thinking Biggs was already well-established in his career.
In a 2022 interview with Access Hollywood, she remembered initially thinking, ‘Why should we support Jason Biggs? He’s already well-known.’ She explained she wanted to champion the less famous contestant. ‘I didn’t want to root for Jason because he already had so much more than me,’ she admitted, confessing she was even a little jealous of him. She initially supported the other actor, but after watching the tapes, she immediately called the producer. ‘I was completely impressed,’ she said. ‘Jason Biggs is a fantastic actor, and he deserves it—I might even be falling for him!’

They quickly fell in love and got married in April 2008, just nine months after they first met. They originally hoped to have the ceremony at their home in Los Angeles, but it didn’t quite work out. Instead, they ended up exchanging vows in the parking lot of a FedEx Kinkos, which turned out to be a surprisingly convenient place to get married.
Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe where they got married! I was watching Kelly and Mark on TV, and she was saying how it just had to be done there, wherever ‘there’ was! Apparently, they needed to sign a bunch of papers and make copies, and the only place that worked was the Taco Bell parking lot! Can you believe it? She said it was actually really romantic! Seriously, a Taco Bell parking lot! It’s just…perfectly them.
The couple renewed their vows in July, exchanging “I do”s at sunset in Napa, California, with around 40 guests, according to People magazine. However, their happiness wasn’t without challenges. In a 2025 episode of Well With Arielle Lorre, the 48-year-old revealed he was battling addiction at the time, and using much more than his wife knew, while she was also figuring out her career path.
In the early years of their marriage, he admitted to using drugs and alcohol to cope, even though he was supposed to be growing up and taking on adult responsibilities. He described this period as a blur that steadily worsened. When he learned his wife was pregnant with their first son, Sid, he went on a three-day drinking spree, which made him realize he needed to change his life.
I immediately questioned my own behavior,” the Wedding Daze actor explained. “Finding out my wife was pregnant, and my response was to use drugs—that’s clearly not a healthy or long-term solution. I realized I didn’t want to live that way anymore.
Looking back, my journey with sobriety wasn’t an instant thing – it was more like four years of giving it my best shot! My wife, Mollen, and I welcomed our son, Sid, in early 2014, and we all moved to New York City the next year. It wasn’t until 2017, when our family grew again with the arrival of Lazlo, that I truly found solid footing and achieved full sobriety. It’s been a wonderful evolution for all of us.
For almost twenty years, Jason Biggs and Jenny Mollen were a strong couple both professionally and personally. They starred together in the 2016 film Amateur Night and co-hosted the 2024 reboot of Dinner and a Movie. In a 2018 interview, Mollen explained that their successful marriage was built on open communication, a willingness to admit when they were wrong, and a strong commitment to each other.
The couple has been in therapy since the beginning of their relationship, and the 46-year-old shared that simply wanting to make things work is incredibly important. They emphasized that genuine effort is key – if you don’t care, it’s far too easy to get a divorce. Staying motivated is essential. Jason Biggs realized Jenny Mollen was the woman he wanted to marry after they acted together in the 2007 film My Best Friend’s Girl. They dated for only six months before Jason proposed, and they got married in April 2008.

In May 2018, Jason publicly celebrated his wife Jenny’s birthday with a heartfelt social media post. He affectionately called her his “baby momma” and “the love of my life,” playfully acknowledging her Gemini personality. He detailed going all-out with gifts – flowers, a card, dinner, a present, and even gluten-free cupcakes – and topped it off by flying in her best friend from Los Angeles as a surprise. Jason jokingly declared his efforts complete once he’d shared the celebration online, finishing with a simple “Happy Birthday, Jenny!”

Jenny amusingly revealed on The Drew Barrymore Show in May 2021 that she playfully calls Jason “Jadon” on Instagram. It started when her phone’s autocorrect changed his name, and she began using the nickname. She joked that because she’s often known as “Jason Biggs’ wife,” she liked the idea of playfully asserting herself. “It’s my way of putting him in his place,” she said. “On Instagram, he’s my husband.”

Jason and his wife have two sons, Sid (born in 2014) and Lazlo (born in 2017). He’s even hinted at wanting another child, jokingly telling People magazine in 2018 that he’ll retire once he has a daughter.

Most expectant parents don’t experience situations like those in the 2016 comedy Amateur Night. However, Jenny actually played Jason’s on-screen pregnant wife in that funny movie just a year before she gave birth to their second child, Lazlo.

Jenny and Jason introduced their baby, Lazlo, to Eugene Levy – who famously played Jason’s father in the American Pie movies. Jason shared a sweet moment on Instagram in January 2018, joking that he couldn’t get Lazlo to laugh, so he needed help from a professional! The photo shows Jenny holding baby Lazlo while the whole family shares a happy laugh.

Jason and Jenny appeared together in a TV series based on Jenny’s life story, titled I Like You Just the Way I Am. The funny show followed a wife (Jenny) trying to manage her life, with her supportive husband (Jason) by her side. Busy Philipps and Sharon Lawrence also starred in the show, which unfortunately only ran for one season.

Jason and Jenny took the classic Newlywed Game to the next level! In 2018, they co-hosted the Lifetime game show My Partner Knows Best, and it really put their relationship to the test. As Jenny jokingly explained on TODAY, working together was challenging, but they wanted to see how strong their love really was, just like any married couple would.

I’m such a fan of Jenny and Jason! She celebrated her husband’s birthday on May 12th, 2021, and her Instagram post was just the sweetest. She called him her “absolute favorite,” and said he’s her lifelong partner, someone she looks up to, and her inspiration. It was so cute, and she even jokingly apologized for flooding Instagram with pictures of him while she was half-asleep on Ambien!

Jenny wrote about Jason’s past behavior of following his ex-girlfriend. Jason described this period as a humorous part of their lives, and it even ended up in Jenny’s books. He jokingly told Us Weekly that people change over time—they have children, and the person he once followed has also moved on. He explained that she felt the need to publicly state she’s a different person now.

Even though Jenny co-hosted the Bachelor In Paradise After Show with Chris Harrison in 2015, she and Jason still enjoy watching their favorite reality TV shows together. Jason jokingly revealed in a 2019 People magazine home tour that he sometimes puts on ESPN “to give the impression” that he watches sports, but they actually prefer The Bachelor and Real Housewives.

Jason and Jenny, parents of two, understand that marriage takes a lot of work and dedication. They appeared on Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette in 2019 to advise the contestants on how to properly care for a pregnant partner, emphasizing that childbirth isn’t always glamorous.

In October 2018, Jason celebrated one year of sobriety and shared his journey with overcoming alcohol and drug addiction on social media. He explained that he first attempted to get sober over five years prior, when his dependence on substances became overwhelming. Jason admitted that recovery wasn’t easy, but he was incredibly proud to have achieved a year of sobriety and encouraged anyone struggling with addiction to seek help, emphasizing that there’s no shame in doing so and that recovery is possible.
As a lifestyle expert, I always say it’s the little things that matter, and witnessing genuine love like this is so inspiring! I recently saw a beautiful message from Jenny to her husband, celebrating a big achievement of his. She simply wrote, ‘So proud of my husband today!’ and went on to tell him how much she appreciates his hard work, that she sees him, and how much she loves him. It was such a sweet and heartfelt tribute – a perfect reminder to celebrate the people we love and acknowledge their efforts.

Jenny and her husband Jason are a strong team, and Jenny is open about the challenges of motherhood. In a 2017 Instagram post, she described how quickly new moms can feel down and question themselves, despite pressure to appear happy. She urged anyone struggling with postpartum feelings to seek help, emphasizing that it’s okay not to feel instantly joyful.
Jenny and Jason’s passion for one another still runs deep…even if it’s a little NSFW. “When people ask what it was like having actors as parents,” Jenny joked on Instagram with a makeout pic of her and Jason, and their kids only a few feet away.

Jason and Jenny, who used to co-host a radio show on SiriusXM, are following their own advice and seeing a marriage counselor! Jenny told People magazine in December 2020 that therapy has been key to their ability to work together. She explained, “When you work with your partner, having a therapist is essential.”
Or, as Jason put it, “You’ve got to do it as a preemptive strike.”

Jenny and Jason, who have been married for over ten years, jokingly revealed that they’ve been enjoying more intimacy during the pandemic. Jenny told Us Weekly in August 2020 that this increased connection helped them cope with quarantine and actually brought them even closer as a couple, creating a positive bonding experience.

Jason and Jenny celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary on April 22, 2018. Jason shared his feelings, writing, “Ten years ago today, I made the best decision of my life.” He added with a smile, “We’ve made it a decade, with hopefully five or six more to come. I love you!”

In 2022, Jason accompanied his wife to a book discussion in New York with her friend, Busy Philipps, to celebrate the release of her book, City of Likes.

The couple attended NYC Second Chance Rescue’s fourth annual gala in 2024 and happily posed for photos with a cute dog.

Jenny was caught leaping into Jason’s arms during an outing in New York in January 2025.

The couple’s last public appearance together was in November 2025 at the Torino Film Festival in Italy.
