Apparently, three’s not always a crowd.
The latest season of Love Island USA surprised viewers right away with a new element: couples becoming groups of three. Here’s what happened.
After just one day on Love Island, the contestants had to decide if they wanted to stick with their current partners or get to know someone new. Those who chose to explore other options—Beatriz, Trinity, Bryce, and Zach—were introduced to some new faces hoping to spark a connection.
Gabriel treated Beatriz and Trinity to a private evening getaway, and Kayda took Bryce and Zach away from the villa for some time alone.
Two groups of three Islanders spent the evening getting to know each other, including sharing one large bed. Meanwhile, back at the villa, Kenzie and Sean were left as the only single Islanders.
Honestly, Beatriz leaving Sean really shocked him. He told Ariana Madix that he genuinely thought things were going great between them – they had a real connection, great conversations, and everything just felt right. He really didn’t see it coming.
“Yeah, damn, that just kinda sucks,” he added, “because I was actually excited for this one.”
Kenzie wasn’t very surprised, as she’d noticed Zach didn’t seem as interested in her. Still, she told herself, “That’s alright. I’ll find someone who’s a better fit.”

Although having a throuple added a new element to Love Island, the arrangement didn’t last long. Gabriel and Kayda each spent the day getting to know two potential partners, and before moving into the villa, they had to decide who they wanted to couple up with.
Around the firepit, Kayda decided to pair up with Zach, and Gabriel chose Beatriz. This meant Trinity and Bryce became a couple again. Meanwhile, Kenzie and Sean were still single and at risk of being eliminated.
If you’re a big fan of Love Island USA, you might recognize Zach – he’s the brother of Charlie Georgiou, who was on season seven of the show.

Zach admitted during the show’s first episode that he’s hoping to both improve upon someone else’s journey and find a romantic connection.
As for how he usually likes to charm women?
The reality TV star from Birmingham, England, admitted he often mentions One Direction when talking to girls, because it’s a successful conversation starter. He clarified that he genuinely likes the band, and people are usually surprised to hear him talk knowledgeably about them.
