It’s hard to believe there was a time when Klaus Mikaelson wasn’t a central figure in The Vampire Diaries. When he first came to Mystic Falls, he was determined to break a curse, but he ended up adding so much more to the story. As one of the original vampires – meaning he was among the very first – he expanded the show’s mythology and brought plenty of his own conflicts with him. Though mentioned in Season 2’s “Rose” and briefly seen possessing Alaric Saltzman in “Know Thy Enemy,” Klaus fully appeared as Joseph Morgan in the episode “Klaus,” which first aired on April 21, 2011.

Prime Video’s spy thriller, Citadel, originally premiered in 2023 and was quickly renewed for a second season. Production was initially delayed due to the Writers’ Strike, pushing the release from 2024 to 2025, but it faced further setbacks. Now, the second season is finally here, launching on May 6th. As a longtime fan, I remember when things really changed for South Park. Today marks the anniversary of the only time an episode was actually censored right after it first aired. It was April 21st, 2010 – sixteen years ago! – when they released “201”, the 201st episode. It brought back a lot of storylines from the show’s history, but it also featured the Prophet Muhammad, which caused a huge uproar. The creators even received death threats, and Comedy Central actually decided to censor the episode, which is still banned today.

I’ve noticed a common thread in many anime, and it really started with Goku’s Super Saiyan transformation in Dragon Ball Z. It was such a powerful idea, and it paved the way for other shows to do something similar. Naruto definitely took this to heart and used it effectively. But honestly, a lot of anime have explored this concept, and some of their transformations are even more over-the-top than anything we saw in Dragon Ball or Naruto.
