Ryan Lochte Claps Back at “Clowns” Saying He’s “Unrecognizable”

Ryan Lochte can’t believe the splash he made.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I have to say, everyone was buzzing this week when the Olympic swimmer announced he’d be coaching at Missouri State University! But honestly, the biggest surprise for many – and even his girlfriend Molly Gilliham – wasn’t the coaching gig, it was his dramatic hair transformation! It’s always fun when someone switches up their look, and the public’s reaction was definitely something to see.

Molly shared in an Instagram video on May 14th that she’s been getting a lot of messages from people who don’t recognize her partner. She said people are telling her he looks completely different now.

Ryan wasn’t worried about people saying he looked different, since the photo they were comparing it to was from a long time ago.

He mentioned they were showing pictures from when he was training and having professional makeup applied for photoshoots during the 2012 Olympics. He then noted that since it’s now 2026, that was about 14 years ago.

“I just don’t understand how they can be so different,” Ryan went on. “They’re acting ridiculous, honestly.”

The 41-year-old posted on Instagram, seeming surprised that getting older is seen as a negative thing, writing, “I guess aging is frowned upon? What’s happening lol.”

Molly has always loved Ryan’s appearance, and in a video, she affectionately called him ‘my handsome baby.’

Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte and Molly Benedetto seem to be doing well as a couple.
