Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is doing what she needs to for her health.
Just two months after publicly sharing her cervical cancer diagnosis, the star of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation announced she will have a hysterectomy in the near future.
You know, I recently shared with People magazine that I definitely had a moment of being scared, but I quickly realized it wasn’t the end of the world. I’m a firm believer in staying positive and tackling things head-on, and honestly, I know I’m going to be okay. It’s all about perspective, right?
The 38-year-old, who has three children – Lorenzo (13), Giovanna (11), and Angelo (6) – with her husband, Jionni LaValle, explained that removing her uterus means she won’t require any more medical procedures.
She confessed that the idea of surgery and dealing with pain frightened her. Being a woman and the fact she’d finished having children made the possibility of losing an organ particularly upsetting, and it really bothered her emotionally.
Okay, so I’ve been following her for years, and honestly, it breaks my heart to hear about everything she’s been through. It’s amazing she’s finally prioritizing her health, but it wasn’t easy, not at all! Apparently, she used to dread going to the gyno, even though her doctor kept telling her she needed Pap smears every six months because of some weird results she’d been getting for four years! Can you imagine? It’s so good she’s facing it now, but it just shows how tough this whole thing has been for her.
Snooki explained in a TikTok video that, instead of delaying her check-up due to fear and discomfort, she decided to face it, which led to her diagnosis. She said, “I just went and did it and it was there.”
She explained that she has cancer, but it was caught early – stage one – and is treatable. If she follows all the medical advice, she believes it can either be cured or completely disappear.

Snooki also shared insight into the next steps following her diagnosis.
She explained that she was likely going to have a hysterectomy. Her oncologist had presented three options – chemotherapy, radiation, or a hysterectomy – and she felt the hysterectomy was the most sensible choice.
Going through a tough time right now, the TV personality shared how thankful she is for all the support she’s been getting.
She reassured everyone that things would be okay and she was determined to handle the situation. She promised to keep being open and honest about what was happening, sharing, “I love you all.” She ended by reiterating her commitment to working through it and staying positive.
