Taylor Swift’s new song will launch fans into infinity and beyond.
I’m so excited about Taylor’s new song for Toy Story 5! It’s called “I Knew It, I Knew You,” and it feels like she’s really gone back to her country sound. She wrote it with Jack Antonoff, who she’s worked with for years, and their collaboration is just magical.
Taylor’s new song, released on June 5th, explores the feeling of reconnecting with a person or memory from her past. The lyrics are nostalgic, and she delivers them with a distinctive vocal style featuring harmonica and a touch of country twang.
In the chorus, the Grammy-winning artist recalls realizing their love for someone. They describe returning at a crucial moment and seeing that person, still wearing the familiar smile they remembered. The singer reflects on the time that has passed, but affirms they instantly recognized and knew it was them.
One fan exclaimed, “Taylor’s really embracing her country roots again!” Many others connected the new music to her very first album from 2006, saying it sounded just like what they’d imagined a previously unreleased song from that era would be like.
“I Knew It, I Knew You” isn’t just a return to Taylor’s earlier musical style. After experimenting with new collaborators on her recent album, The Life of a Showgirl, the 36-year-old singer teamed up again with Jack, a frequent musical partner, for the Toy Story song.
Taylor revealed Jack’s part in the song while celebrating Toy Story composer Randy Newman’s legacy.

She shared on Instagram on June 5th that the creators of the Toy Story musical brought a world to life that she and her friend, Jack Antonoff, were thrilled to be a part of. They wrote the music filled with love for the characters that brought them joy and valuable life lessons during their childhoods.
The Midnights artist also reflected on the song’s genre.
She described writing the song as both a fresh, new direction and a comfortable return to her roots. It was a unique challenge to create something for Jessie, but also felt completely natural. As a lifelong fan of Toy Story – she’s been watching it since she was five – she feels like this project is just the beginning of a wonderful journey, and she’s excited to continue it ‘to infinity and beyond.’

The post also included a sweet, old video of Taylor as a child, dressed as a cowgirl with boots and a red hat – a look very similar to the character Jessie from the ‘Toy Story’ movies.
The fifth Toy Story movie, featuring Woody (Tom Hanks), Jessie (Joan Cusack), and Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen), will be released in theaters on June 19. The film explores how new technology, specifically a tablet named Lilypad (Greta Lee), impacts their world.

Oh my gosh, you guys, the new movie is going to destroy me! Peter Parker – Tom Holland, obviously, the only Peter Parker – is just… alone. Completely cut off from everyone he cares about. He’s still saving New York, of course, because that’s just who he is, but everyone has forgotten him! It’s so heartbreaking! And the best part? MJ is back – Zendaya, naturally, they have to be together! – and Sadie Sink is joining the cast, which means things are about to get really interesting. I’m already losing it just thinking about it!
