Tubi Resurrects Forgotten Cartoon Network Series And More

Tubi has become a go-to streaming service for classic cartoons this year, bringing back popular shows from Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and more. After losing titles like The Powerpuff Girls, Dexter’s Laboratory, Courage the Cowardly Dog, and Ed Edd ‘n Eddy from HBO Max, Tubi added them to its free streaming library. Many of these beloved series hadn’t been available online for years, and Tubi is quickly becoming the best place to revisit these childhood favorites.

Many fans have forgotten about the Cartoon Network show Evil Con Carne, which originally started as a segment on The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy. The show centers around a supervillain named Hector who, after dying, was brought back to life inside a circus bear. Now, while still trying to conquer the world, he has to cope with his new, furry body – leading to plenty of funny moments. Evil Con Carne isn’t the only classic Cartoon Network series available on Tubi, either. You can also find shows like Static Shock, Cow & Chicken, He-Man And The Masters of the Universe, and The Addams Family. You can watch Evil Con Carne on Tubi here.

Cartoon Network’s Evil Comedy

If you missed it, The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy first appeared on Cartoon Network in 2001. The show ran for six seasons and included more than seventy episodes. Its spin-off, Evil Con Carne, wasn’t as long-running, with only two seasons and twenty-two episodes. While the creator, Maxwell Atoms, hasn’t said whether he plans to revive the show, there’s a possibility Billy & Mandy could return in the future.

In 2023, animator Maxwell Atoms revealed he’d proposed a new version of The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy to Cartoon Network, but the network hasn’t pursued the idea. On his YouTube channel, Atoms explained that Cartoon Network currently has a project of his that would reintroduce Billy & Mandy to a new generation. He hopes this could eventually lead to a continuation of the story, perhaps revisiting themes from Billy & Mandy: Destroy Us All. However, he noted the animation industry is facing challenges. He’s optimistic about what this year will bring, especially considering the changes happening with Time-Warner-Discovery-Comcast-Plus. He also pointed out that Billy & Mandy has a history of being revived, and for fans wanting to rewatch the original series, it will also be available on Tubi this year.
