There isn’t much about Arnold Schwarzenegger that doesn’t stand out.

After his divorce from Maria Shriver, which was ultimately friendly despite some complications, the 78-year-old decided to prioritize privacy and stuck to a simple daily routine.

However, he is very excited about his relationship with Heather Milligan, a 51-year-old physical therapist who helped him recover from shoulder surgery in 2012.

Arnold Schwarzenegger spoke about his partner, saying they have a lot in common and a wonderful relationship. In a 2023 interview with People magazine, he expressed his admiration for her work ethic and independence, describing her as highly motivated. Schwarzenegger shares four children – Katherine, 36, Christina, 34, Patrick, 33, and Christopher, 28 – with his former wife, Shriver, and a son, Joseph Baena, 28, with Mildred Baena.

He might paint flowers for the women he loves—he jokes about it, calling them ‘damn flowers,’ but it’s true—but what he really shows his affection through is hard work.

Schwarzenegger followed that advice, and after completing therapy following the filming of his 2013 movie, Escape Plan, he showed his gratitude by taking her to lunch. He hinted that their connection grew from there.

They now live in a large house in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles, with their many pets – dogs named Dutch, Noodle, Cherry, and Schnitzel, a donkey named Lulu, and a small pony named Whiskey.

Schwarzenegger described Milligan as the heart of her family, explaining that watching her nightly calls with her grandmother revealed her true character. He said, ‘That’s when you really see what someone is made of.’

Milligan, who used to compete as a gymnast, has spent a lot of quality time with his family over the years. This includes enjoying Oktoberfest in Germany with his brothers Patrick and Christopher in 2022, and having dinner with his sister Katherine and her husband, actor Chris Pratt, in Los Angeles.

Even without pictures showing them together, Shriver understands that Schwarzenegger still makes time for his ex-wife and their children.

Although he claimed he didn’t regret being married, the actor shared in 2023 that his split from Shriver was actually “extremely difficult.”

“Eventually, you move on,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. He’s currently in a happy relationship and very proud of his girlfriend, but he still loves his wife. They’ve remained close friends and are proud of how they raised their children. Despite their difficulties, they continued to celebrate holidays and birthdays together as a family.

The retired Mr. Olympia enjoys visiting Milligan at her workplace, where he likes to chat with her patients. He says he admires their dedication as athletes, even though their accomplishments sometimes make him feel small.

Christopher Schwarzenegger, the youngest son of Arnold and Maria Schwarzenegger, prefers to stay out of the spotlight. Joseph Baena is Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son, born from an affair with his then-housekeeper, Mildred Patricia Baena, in 1997. Arnold didn’t discover he was Joseph’s father until years later. In his 2023 documentary, Arnold, he explained he initially didn’t suspect paternity, but as Joseph grew older, it became increasingly obvious. He then worried about keeping it a secret.
