Rare Pikachu Promo Card Keeps Selling For Record-Breaking Prices (Here’s Why)

Starting in early 2025, a Pikachu card from 1998 has begun selling for significantly more money than it used to. Both regular and professionally graded versions of the card are increasing in value, but the professionally graded PSA 10 version has seen the largest price jump, according to PriceCharting. This card, the 1998 Ooyama’s Pikachu promo, was originally available only in Japan as part of a special vending machine series. Uniquely, the card was fully hand-drawn by Pokémon TCG illustrator Kouichi Ooyama and was distributed on a sheet where collectors could peel off individual cards. While always rare, this vintage card has historically been affordable. However, that appears to be changing.

In 1998, SystemSoft released an updated version for the PlayStation 1, called Master of Monsters: Disciples of Gaia, and this is the version that Hamster has now brought to modern consoles.

Netflix’s New 8-Part Detective Crime Thriller Series Debuts To Stellar Rotten Tomatoes Score

Netflix has been seeing a lot of success with crime thrillers lately, and several have quickly become popular on the streaming service. Two foreign series, Jo Nesbø’s Detective Hole and The Chestnut Man: Hide and Seek, have been particularly well-received. While Detective Hole’s initial surge has passed, The Chestnut Man is still trending in many countries. A new detective series, which premiered on Thursday, May 14th to critical acclaim, is expected to join them soon. The 8-episode show is already generating buzz.

What’s Going On With Fast and Furious 11?

We’re finally learning more about the upcoming final movie in the series – including its title, release date, and a glimpse of the plot. Unfortunately, there’s also concerning news: reports suggest the cast, often called a “family” by Vin Diesel, may be significantly reduced to cut costs. This could negatively impact the conclusion of the nearly 27-year-long Fast & Furious saga.

Ryan Lochte Claps Back at “Clowns” Saying He’s “Unrecognizable”

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I have to say, everyone was buzzing this week when the Olympic swimmer announced he’d be coaching at Missouri State University! But honestly, the biggest surprise for many – and even his girlfriend Molly Gilliham – wasn’t the coaching gig, it was his dramatic hair transformation! It’s always fun when someone switches up their look, and the public’s reaction was definitely something to see.

Crunchyroll’s Most Underrated Action-Comedy of Spring 2026 Stole the Week With One Perfect Scene

The anime Marriagetoxin is based on a popular manga, leading many to believe it would be a success. While the animation studio Bones was known for high-quality work, the series initially struggled to differentiate itself from other visually stunning anime. However, the most recent episode featured a single, unexpectedly powerful scene that truly set it apart. This scene, focusing on Shiori Ureshino – the woman Hikaru Gero is seeking as a wife – was exceptionally well-animated by Bones and perfectly encapsulated the heart of the series.

5 Most Influential Platformers of All Time

Platforming games have come a long way, but a few key titles really defined the genre. Some created the foundation for how 2D platformers play, while others revolutionized movement and exploration in 3D. These games also heavily influenced how levels are designed and even sparked the creation of entirely new types of platformers that are still popular today. Whether you realize it or not, many modern games still borrow ideas from these influential classics. These five games didn’t just impact platformers—they helped shape the entire gaming landscape.

Top 7 Darkest Anime Episodes, Ranked

Goblins in classic Dungeons & Dragons are typically weak enemies. However, the goblins in Goblin Slayer, while not as strong as dragons or major monsters, are frightening in large numbers. This is immediately clear in the anime’s first episode, where a group of adventurers underestimate the cave-dwelling goblins. Sadly, for both the characters and the audience, the goblins brutally torture the adventurers before killing them. This opening episode is remarkably dark—one of the most disturbing premieres in anime—and that’s why it stands out.

Netflix’s Breakout Hit Crime Drama Series Has Officially Been Canceled (But There’s Some Good News)

As a longtime fan of crime dramas, I’ve been following Netflix’s The Lincoln Lawyer since it debuted in 2022. For those unfamiliar, it’s based on the popular book series by Michael Connelly – the same source material that gave us the excellent 2011 film with Matthew McConaughey. Over four seasons, the show has really built a loyal fanbase, but unfortunately, it looks like we only have one season left to enjoy. It’s a bit of a blow for those of us who’ve been hooked!
