In 2026, we’re seeing a resurgence of horror movies that focus more on action, with both the new Evil Dead film, Evil Dead Burn, and Zach Cregger’s reboot of Resident Evil on the way. While both projects sound exciting—Evil Dead Burn is from the director of the well-regarded horror film Infested—this trend might worry longtime horror fans. Historically, action-horror movies haven’t been known for their quality.

For Hire, the debut release from developer Fumi Games and publisher Playside, which users have rated 4.9 out of 5 stars based on over 3,700 reviews. Finally, Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard is a spin-off of the popular 2022 indie game Vampire Survivors, both developed by Poncle. Producer Naoki Yoshida announced that this crossover would be a multi-part “Alliance Raid” series, meaning fans would enjoy *Evathemed content for months to come. According to Discussing Film, the release date for The Mummy 4 has been moved up to October 15, 2027—seven months earlier than the previously planned May 19, 2028. That May 2028 date will now be taken by Miami Vice ’85, starring Austin Butler and Michael B. Jordan. Production on The Mummy 4 is set to begin next month.
