If your Xbox or ROG Ally is running hot or stuttering, disabling CPU boost is an easy fix that can make games feel noticeably better — here’s how to do it

As a gamer, I’ve noticed that when my device’s CPU Boost is turned on, it really sucks up the power. That’s a problem because it leaves less power for the GPU, which is way more important for getting good performance in most games. These days, most games rely more on the graphics card than the processor, especially when you’re playing on a handheld console or at resolutions like 720p or 1080p. So, boosting the CPU doesn’t always help – sometimes it actually hurts!
