No animated Power Rangers projects existed at that time, but leaked materials revealed Saban was collaborating with ZAGG Animation Studios (known for Miraculous) on an animated movie called Power Rangers: Origins. ZAGG’s animation style and character designs resembled those of Miraculous, but the project was eventually cancelled when work shifted to the 2017 live-action reboot.
