The updated version of A New Hope debuted in theaters on January 18, 1997, but instead of being well-received, it sparked disagreement among dedicated fans who didn’t like the changes. Luckily, Lucasfilm seems to be avoiding a similar situation as the 50th anniversary of the film approaches.
Casting is underway for the Baywatch reboot, which is being produced by Fox. Producers are looking for people to audition on February 18th for a variety of roles – including lifeguards, beachgoers, bartenders, and more – and are asking applicants to dress in beach-themed clothing that is polished and professional, but not overly revealing. They want to see swimwear-inspired looks that are still tasteful. The casting call is open to all types, as they are also considering roles that haven’t been fully developed yet.

They’ve appeared in five movies together: National Lampoon’s Vacation, National Lampoon’s European Vacation, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Vegas Vacation, and the final simply titled Vacation. In the film Horns, Daniel Radcliffe plays Ig Perrish, who finds himself growing horns after being accused of his girlfriend Merrin’s murder. These horns have a strange effect: they compel people to reveal their deepest, darkest secrets. Ig uses this newfound power to investigate Merrin’s death and seek revenge on the killer. Directed by Alexandre Aja, known for Crawl, and featuring a talented cast including Juno Temple, Max Minghella, and Heather Graham, Horns is a surprisingly overlooked movie that deserved a wider release.
Netflix briefly revisited the world of Altered Carbon with Altered Carbon: Resleeved, an anime film released in March 2020. This project explored the early life of Takeshi Kovacs, before the events of Season 1. While the main show used flashbacks to show his past, Resleeved presented his story in real-time. Although it had some interesting moments building out the world, Resleeved wasn’t particularly memorable. However, it does add context and directly impacts the experience of watching Season 1.
Many films tried to copy the success of The Avengers, but often missed the mark. They focused too much on big action and team-ups, and not enough on strong characters and a well-told story. While a few did okay, most failed to live up to expectations, proving it’s incredibly difficult to recreate that same magic. These attempts are often remembered for being disappointing.
These often-overlooked groups of DC villains – whether they’re aiming to take over the world or just defeat one hero – deserve more attention.
