Recent reports suggest Netflix is planning a theatrical release for the final episodes of Stranger Things. According to Matt Belloni of Puck, the episodes will premiere in AMC and other theaters on New Year’s Eve, continuing the recently established partnership between Netflix and AMC. Variety previously reported that the Duffer Brothers had initially requested this, but were denied by Netflix executive Bela Bajaria. However, Belloni points out that this happened before current plans were finalized. While the deals aren’t officially confirmed, Puck states that a theatrical release is highly likely to happen.
