After almost 20 years with the show, I’m sharing the news that I’ve decided to move on. February 16th was my last day! It’s been an incredible run, and I’m excited for what’s next, but I’ll definitely cherish my time there.

I’ve been loving seeing George R.R. Sabretooth is a famously dangerous Marvel villain, and he’s consistently been a fan favorite. This popularity has led Marvel to explore different takes on the character, starting with the alternate reality storyline “The Age of Apocalypse” in 1995. In this version, Sabretooth was a hero with the X-Men, known for his close bond with the mutant Blink. This alternate Sabretooth became so popular he later appeared in the Exiles comic series. More recently, in 2025, Marvel introduced another version of Sabretooth as a kind and compassionate character in Ultimate Wolverine. This raises an interesting question: what makes the main version of Sabretooth (from the 616 universe) so villainous, while these other versions aren’t?

I remember when The Venture Bros. first appeared on Adult Swim 23 years ago today, February 16th, 2003. It was a really interesting take on the classic adventure hero, like a grown-up version of Johnny Quest, and it quickly became clear the show had a much larger story to tell. Over seven seasons, it built something special, but sadly, it was cancelled before it could finish that story. A lot of fans, myself included, are still hoping for a proper ending someday.
According to The Direct, Katee Sackhoff recently announced at Fan Expo Vancouver that Mike Flanagan’s next project, a new adaptation of Carrie for Amazon, is scheduled for release in October 2026. She described it as “very good” and hinted at its place within Flanagan’s interconnected universe, often called the “Flanniverse.”
