‘Weapons’ Aunt Gladys Is Getting a Prequel Movie

The breakout character Aunt Gladys from this summer’s horror success, Weapons, is getting her own movie. According to Variety, Weapons creator Zach Cregger is writing the script alongside Zach Shields, who also co-wrote Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.

Last September, director Daniel Cregger revealed plans for a prequel focusing on Madigan’s Aunt Gladys. Now, thanks to Deadline, we have official details about the Weapons prequel, including Cregger returning to direct. This time, however, he’ll be collaborating on the screenplay with writer Zach Shields, who has a strong background in the Monsterverse, having worked on films like Godzilla vs. Kong, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, and the series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.
